Why Sizing Matters for Headwear
A fitted cap that is even 3 millimeters too tight can lead to forehead pressure marks and headaches within 45 minutes of wear. A cap that is too loose will sit too low, resting uncomfortably against the ears. Here is how to measure your exact size at home.
What You Need
- A flexible tailor’s tape measure (or a piece of non-stretch string and a ruler)
- A mirror
Step-by-Step Measurement Guide
- Position the tape measure around your head approximately 1 cm (1/2 inch) above your ears and across the middle of your forehead.
- Pull the tape snug, but not constricting—it should feel exactly how you want your cap to sit on your head.
- Record your measurement in centimeters to the nearest millimeter.

Pro Tip: If you fall precisely between two sizes, always size up. You can easily insert a 1mm foam sizer into the sweatband for a custom contour fit.
